The Church, and society as a whole, has come to realize how urgently we need what the late Pope John Paul II called the “prophetic charism” of women (cf. Mulieris Dignitatem, 29) as bearers of love, teachers of mercy and artisans of peace, bringing warmth and humanity to a world that all too often judges the value of a person by the cold criteria of usefulness and profit.

Dear Friends,

You are cordially invited to join us as we concretely explore the prospect of what it means to be a “Woman of the Kingdom” in the ever-changing world in which we live. This exciting convention will provide you and other women from around the United States and Canada with a unique opportunity to revisit the different components of our Regnum Christi spirituality, regarding our relationship with God, our family, our work and our social life.

Father Jon Budke, LC, will set the stage on Thursday evening, October 15th by introducing us to the topic of expectations. What are they? Who sets them? What does Christ expect?

On Friday, October 16th, Father John Bartunek, LC, author of The Better Part, will offer his insights on preparing a fruitful meditation, getting the most out of spiritual direction as well as the sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist. Noting that regularly fulfilling these commitments can be a challenge, Father Bartunek will also contemplate on how best to let the Blessed Virgin Mary “mother” us as we make our way along this journey of faith.

The best advice always comes from one who has been rigorously tested, so we are thrilled that Father Anthony Bannon, LC, has agreed to offer his advice on Saturday morning, October 17th on the subject of helping both ourselves and others grow closer to God. Likewise, knowing that “the Christian vocation is by its very nature a vocation to the apostolate (Apostolicam Actuositatem, #2),” Father Bannon will also offer useful tips on how to incorporate the apostolate into our daily lives. Finally, how can one be a “Woman of the Kingdom” without the appropriate human formation? For this reason, we have invited the consecrated women to present Saturday afternoon about maintaining harmony within our families and in our social lives. A concurrent session for formators of youth apostolates will also be offered all day on Saturday, October 17th.

No convention would be complete without a good deal of fun, and this one is no different. In addition to having plenty of time to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones, we have invited world renowned classical pianist Eric Genuis to perform a live concert on Saturday evening, October 17th. This promises to be a night to remember for all of us!
